Our aim is quite simple, to become a truly multi-channel business rather than a business with multiple channels. In a short period of time we will be delivering an extraordinary shopping experience wherever and whenever our customers want it and sharing in their experiences through social media.
The role of our multi-channel team is to offer our customers the opportunity to shop with us whenever and wherever they wish. As shopping habits have changed, more and more people use a combination of tools to complete their shopping journey whether that’s in researching products, comparing prices or making a purchase.
We work alongside our buying colleagues to offer an extended range of products online at wilkinsonplus.com, in our in-store directory and through a range of new product guides.
We’re always on the look out for new ways to help our customers access as wide a range of products as possible; whether that’s through the development of mobile applications for smart phones or the broader use of QR codes to give customers more information and access to product support.
We’re also enhancing our use of social media to join in our customers’ conversations and make the most of the marketing opportunities available through product reviews and recommendations. With an increasing number of Facebook followers and a weekly email reaching almost 1 million customers we’ve certainly got plenty to talk about.
To play a part in our multi-channel operation, you’ll need to be technically savvy but more importantly open to change. You’ll be in touch with the very latest online developments with one eye on where the future may be taking multi channel retailing.
The Web Marketing graduate scheme is an 18 month programme in which you will learn:
“My challenge is to bring our online offer to life for millions of existing customers in an almost limitless marketplace. Sounds like a big challenge I know, but working as part of a comparatively small team and with the support of our business partners we can turn around developments pretty quickly.
I spend plenty of time working alongside our in-store marketing team to understand the targets and aims of our latest promotional activity before turning it into an online offer. It’s not all about promotions though. I’m constantly on the look out for new ways to bring more customers to the site and to make it as easy as possible for them to search and navigate their way around more than 10,000 lines.
Our multi-channel operation is pretty much at the heart of everything we do and its importance will only increase as technologies change and our customer offer continues to grow.”
